How to test the flame spread of protective clothing?

Flame-retardant protective clothing is mainly used by operators in situations where there are open flames, sparks, molten metals and in-flammables. It can prevent the flame from spreading after encountering flames or hot objects, and it can extinguish automatically immediately after leaving the fire source, and the smoldering parts are carbonized rapidly without melting, dripping or piercing, thus playing an important role in protecting operators from or reducing injuries.

The flame spread tester for protective clothing, which meets the standards of AQ 6103, ISO 6940: 2004, ISO 6941: 2003, ISO15025: 2000 and GB/T 5456: 2009, is developed according to the test standard of ISO 15025, and at the same time meets the requirements of domestic AQ6103-2007 test standard of combustion characteristics in welder’s protective gloves. The testing principle is that the bottom edge and edge of the vertical suspension sample are ignited by standard small flame for 10s, and the after burning time, ignition time and damaged length are measured to evaluate the flame retardant performance of the protective fabric.

The tester is equipped with different test needle frames and can be upgraded to meet the requirements of various test standards, such as ISO6941, ISO6940, etc. Adopt stepping motor to automatically carry out bottom edge ignition and edge ignition. Combustion test can be set as required. The LCD screen records the after burning and ignition time.
