Do you know more about the Single Insulated Wire and Cable Vertical Flame Test?

Recently, I heard good news from customers from Egypt, Canada, Italy and other countries that their epidemic situation is well controlled. Basically, no home office is required, and the economy is gradually recovering.

For us, the most obvious manifestation is the increase in demand for wires and cables, which means that everyone has these requirements together.

What is a cable fire test and how does it work?
BASEC conducts a number of fire tests on cables. These tests are specified in cable and performance standards, and are called up for a variety of cable types. This test is a small scale vertical flame propagation test. Most cables will have this test conducted on them to check flame spread characteristics of both materials and cable construction.

What is a single wire vertical flame test?
This fire performance test is performed on a finished cable or the insulated single conductors, meaning all layers of the cable construction are subjected to the burner flame. The Canadian Standards Agency (CSA) also has a single wire Vertical Flame Test designated CSA FT1, which is performed on the finished cable or equipment wire.
