How does fire retardant work?
Fire retardant contains salts (typically fertilizers) that alter the way wildfires burn, decreasing fire intensity and slowing the advance of the fire, even after the water in the fire retardant has evaporated.
The water in long-term fire retardants serves primarily to aid in uniform dispersal of the chemical over the target area.
What is EN 60903?
EN 60903:2003 - Gloves and mitts of insulating material for live working, corrected 2004 and 2006. This European Standard specifies the requirements and test methods for gloves and wiring gloves intended for use by workers exposed to high-tension electrical voltage.
It was derived by CENELEC from IEC 60903:2003, including Corrigendum January 2005. It supersedes BS EN 60903:1993 and BS EN 50237:2000 both of which are withdrawn.
